Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
- Experience working with high school-aged students in educational settings
- Proficiency in sign language and/or other communication modalities used with DHH students
- Understanding of IEP development and implementation
- Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
- Strong organizational, collaboration, and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and adapt curriculum to meet diverse learning needs of students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Provide direct instruction in a resource or inclusion setting in accordance with each student’s IEP
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to maximize student success
- Administer and interpret assessments to inform instruction
- Advocate for appropriate accommodations and tools for students
- Engage in case management tasks including progress monitoring, IEP meetings, and documentation
