Key Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
  • Expertise in supporting students with varying degrees of hearing loss
  • Experience working with high school-aged students preferred
  • Proficiency with assistive listening devices and adaptive technology
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver customized instruction to high school students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Assess student needs and create individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to implement accommodations
  • Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly
  • Advocate for student inclusion and accessibility within the school community
  • Participate in IEP meetings and relevant staff development
