Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Experience working with high school students preferred
- Proficiency in sign language and other communication modalities for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Strong collaborative and problem-solving skills
- Ability to adapt instruction and materials to diverse learning needs
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction to high school students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with general education teachers, staff, and families to ensure student success
- Utilize a variety of communication methods and assistive technology to facilitate learning
- Monitor and report student progress, adjusting plans as needed to promote achievement
- Advocate for students’ needs within the school community
