Key Qualifications:
- Valid state licensure and endorsement/certifications for teaching Deaf/Hard of Hearing students (must provide documentation upon request)
- Experience working with children and adolescents who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Strong knowledge of language acquisition, assistive technology, and individualized educational programming
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Commitment to best practices and an inclusive, student-centered approach
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and/or consultation services to students with hearing loss in accordance with IEP goals
- Develop and modify educational materials, ensuring accessibility and inclusivity
- Collaborate with general and special education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and related service providers
- Advocate for appropriate accommodations and resources to support student achievement
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and contribute to progress monitoring and reporting
- Provide training and support to staff and families regarding hearing loss, communication strategies, and technology
- Foster a supportive and encouraging classroom environment where all students can thrive
