This full-time contract position calls for a passionate professional eager to deliver specialized instruction and services as an itinerant Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing (TDHH). You’ll work onsite with students across various locations, providing essential support and advocating for accessibility and inclusion.
Qualifications and Experience Sought:
- Valid Illinois TDHH License
- State/Discipline licensure required
- Strong understanding of Deaf/Hard of Hearing student needs
- Experience working in school settings preferred
- Familiarity with itinerant service delivery
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, support staff, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in multiple school environments
- Support educational access and accommodations, including resources and assistive technology
- Develop and implement individualized instructional plans (IEPs) tailored to student abilities and goals
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to ensure full, meaningful participation for supported students
- Maintain thorough documentation of student performance and progress
- Advocate for positive communication, social development, and self-advocacy skills
