A full-time opening is available for skilled professionals credentialed as Teachers of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing. This dynamic contract assignment is located in the scenic northern Nashville area, offering the opportunity to work across established Pre-K through elementary DHH hubs, with an exciting new middle school hub opening for the upcoming year.

Your expertise will play a pivotal role in supporting students from kindergarten through 12th grade. Caseloads and school assignments will be determined by district needs, delivering primarily consultative services alongside some direct instruction. The position follows the traditional school calendar from August 3, 2026, to May 28, 2027, providing a consistent Monday through Friday schedule with 37.5 hours per week.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Valid Tennessee Department of Education certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Capacity to quickly complete required Tennessee fingerprinting and credentialing steps
  • Demonstrated ability to consult and collaborate with educators, families, and other support services
  • Experience working with K-12 students in mainstream and/or specialized settings is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication, organization, and adaptability skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver consultative and (when needed) direct instructional services to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
  • Assist in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
  • Support and guide general education staff in strategies for inclusive classrooms
  • Foster communication and advocacy skills in students
  • Maintain clear records and comply with all district/state documentation
