Key Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education is required; Master’s degree highly preferred.
  • Active Educator Certification specific to Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is essential, with fluency to be demonstrated during the interview process.
  • Strong background in teaching math and/or English at elementary, middle, or high school levels.
  • Ability to provide current certifications/licenses (photos requested at interview).
  • References ready for submission during the hiring process.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging instruction in math and English to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, adapting materials to meet individual needs.
  • Serve as a resource and advocate within the school, fostering an inclusive and accessible learning environment.
  • Collaborate with fellow educators, parents, and specialists to support student growth.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and communicate consistently with stakeholders.
  • Work onsite only, providing direct support within assigned schools (number of schools to be determined).
