Desired Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education required; master’s degree preferred
- Active licensure and educator certification for teaching D/HH populations
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL), to be validated during the interview process
- Experience teaching Math and English to elementary, middle, or high school students
- Strong collaboration, advocacy, and communication abilities
- Ability to present references and certification documentation upon request
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver specialized instruction in core Math and English subjects to D/HH learners
- Foster accessible and inclusive classroom environments
- Collaborate closely with general education teachers, parents, and support staff
- Utilize evidence-based strategies and technology to support auditory access and learning
- Assess student progress and modify instruction to meet individual goals
- Serve as a positive role model and advocate for students with hearing needs
