Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHH) in Westfield, MA

You’ll be a valued resource on campus, collaborating closely with educators, families, and related service providers to develop and implement strategies that foster communication access and learning. Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is a must, ensuring you can effectively connect with students and tailor instruction to their unique needs.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing, or relevant specialist credential
- Fluency in ASL required
- Experience or strong knowledge supporting Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in a school environment
- Comfort working with a diverse student population and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong organization and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct educational services to Deaf and Hard of Hearing students, adapting curriculum as needed
- Conduct assessments to determine educational needs and track student progress
- Consult with teachers and staff to facilitate inclusive practices and effective modifications
- Advocate for student access to communication supports across settings
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to goal-setting
