Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) - Lynn, MA
Make a difference supporting students as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist for the upcoming 2026/2027 academic year. Key Qualifications:
- Current DESE license required
- Experience working as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (ToDHH) or similar specialist role
- In-depth knowledge of educational strategies and accommodations for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration
- Proficiency in developing and implementing IEPs and progress monitoring
- Flexibility and organization to support a varied and potentially changing caseload
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support tailored to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Collaborate with general education teachers, speech-language pathologists, and other school professionals
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and accommodations
- Advocate for students’ needs and provide recommendations for classroom modifications
- Conduct educational assessments to determine students’ evolving needs
- Serve as a resource to staff and families, offering training and guidance on accessible education
- Commit to fostering an inclusive and accessible learning environment
