Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHH) in Cambridge, MA
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students as a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist and Teacher. This full-time position is set in a dynamic, year-round educational environment just outside Cambridge, MA, with a 4-day summer workweek to give you Fridays off.
From July 7, 2026, your impact will be felt daily as you engage with a small classroom caseload of five students, working a consistent Monday–Friday schedule (7:45 am – 3:15 pm during the main year, with summer Fridays off). Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts DHH (DESE) certification required; SPED certification considered if paired with Teacher of the Deaf experience
- Prior experience working directly with deaf and hard of hearing students preferred
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Passion for inclusivity and adaptability in diverse educational settings
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and group instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Develop and adapt lesson plans to fit each student’s learning needs
- Collaborate with school staff, therapists, and families to support students’ progress
- Maintain accurate documentation and ongoing communication regarding student development
- Foster a positive, nurturing classroom environment
