Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHH) in Boston, MA
Make a meaningful impact as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, supporting a small classroom near Boston, MA. This is a contract opportunity beginning July 7, 2026, with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week. You'll enjoy a year-round school environment, including a flexible summer schedule that offers Fridays off. Class hours are from 7:45 am to 3:15 pm, and you'll work closely with a group of five students, tailoring instruction to diverse needs and fostering an inclusive learning environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Massachusetts DHH (DESE) certification
- SPED certification with Teacher of the Deaf experience considered
- Previous experience supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Expertise in creating individualized educational plans (IEPs)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with both students and colleagues
- Passion for advocating for deaf/hard of hearing students’ access and achievement
Essential Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to a classroom of five students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in accordance with student needs and district standards
- Collaborate with general educators, interpreters, and related service providers
- Foster a supportive, language-rich environment that encourages student growth
- Maintain open lines of communication with families regarding progress and strategies
- Utilize tools and technology to enhance access and learning outcomes
