What we’re seeking:
- Valid DESE license required
- Background as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or experience as a Teacher for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Familiarity with IEP development, implementation, and ongoing documentation
- Ability to tailor instruction based on individual needs, supporting various communication modes
- Commitment to establishing a positive, accessible classroom environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with staff, students, and parents
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Adapt curriculum and materials to ensure accessibility
- Foster an inclusive and engaging atmosphere for all learners
- Serve as a resource for staff and families, supporting best practices for accessible education
- Participate in IEP meetings, assessments, and progress monitoring
- Confirm and manage caseloads as assigned
- Stay current on best practices in deaf education and attend professional development as needed
