DHH Teacher | San Antonio, Texas
Inspire and support students as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in a vibrant, collaborative school community. Two certified professionals are needed to fill roles at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. You'll play a pivotal part in shaping young lives by providing engaging math and core English instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, helping them to achieve their fullest potential.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education required; Master’s degree preferred
- Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) – a portion of the interview will be conducted in ASL
- Possession of valid Educator Certification and all relevant teaching licenses
- Ability to provide references and images of all licenses/certifications upon application
- Previous experience in classroom settings with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students is highly desirable
- Qualifications to teach math and core English at the appropriate grade level
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction in math and core English to elementary, middle, or high school students as assigned
- Develop individualized educational strategies to meet the needs of Deaf/Hard of Hearing learners
- Collaborate closely with school staff, interpreters, and families to ensure student progress
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet students’ diverse needs and IEP requirements
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
