Teacher of the Deaf in Saint Charles, IL
Make an impact by supporting high school students with hearing differences, working as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a fulfilling contract position. This onsite role runs afternoons from 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM each day, beginning as soon as possible and continuing through May 21, 2027. You’ll use your expertise to foster an inclusive learning environment and empower students to reach their full potential.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Illinois teaching license for Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH).
- Experience working with high school-aged students preferred.
- Familiarity with IEP processes and individualized instruction.
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
- State and district-required credentials such as Professional Educator License (PEL), if specified.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet a range of learner needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to high school students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Collaborate with general education staff to implement and modify curriculum as needed.
- Develop and monitor IEPs and other individualized plans.
- Consult with parents, support personnel, and service providers to ensure a cohesive approach.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies and assistive technologies.
- Maintain accurate records and provide regular progress updates.
