Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Valid credential or certification as a Teacher of the Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Experience providing direct instruction to students with hearing differences
- Familiarity with IEP implementation and goal-tracking
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to use and troubleshoot assistive technology such as receivers, microphones, and connections for computer-based testing
- Comfortable working independently and in coordination with school teams
- Knowledge of best practices in supporting DHH students in a school setting
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct DHH instruction to students in 3rd, 5th, and 6th grade as specified:
- Student 1: 2 times/month for 15 minutes
- Student 2: 1 time/week for 15 minutes
- Student 3: 3 times/month for 60 minutes
- Document progress toward IEP goals and participate in meetings as needed
- Ensure effective use of assistive technology for student access
- Adapt instructional strategies to individual student needs
- Foster a positive, inclusive environment for students
