Key Qualifications:
- Valid and active Washington teaching license in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Experience working as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a school setting preferred
- Strong understanding of strategies and technologies to support deaf/hard of hearing students
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with students, families, and staff
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive and accessible classroom environment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing across grade levels
- Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods to suit individual educational plans
- Partner with general education teachers and related service providers to deliver accommodations and modify curriculum as needed
- Support student advocacy, self-advocacy, communication strategies, and social skills development
- Maintain accurate records and document student progress to support IEP goals
- Engage families in the educational process and provide resources and support as needed
