Virtual Teach of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing in AR
Opportunity available for a Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) services, focused on telehealth delivery in an educational setting. This role is located in Fort Smith, Arkansas, supporting K-12 students with individualized education programs (IEPs).
Responsibilities include:
- Providing 1 to 1.5 hours of tailored instruction per day, Tuesday through Friday, directly addressing the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Delivering specialized telehealth lessons that align with each student’s IEP goals.
- Collaborating with school staff and families to ensure effective communication and support.
- Maintaining accurate records and tracking student progress in compliance with educational standards.
Qualifications and experience desired:
- Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH Educator certification required).
- Experience working with K-12 students within a special education framework.
- Comfort and proficiency in conducting telehealth sessions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage students virtually.
- Ability to work onsite in Fort Smith, AR, as this role requires in-person presence despite telehealth instruction.
This is a part-time contract position running from August 8 through May 13, with a daily commitment of 1 to 1.5 hours. Interviews will be conducted via Zoom.
