Virtual Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher in RI
An opportunity is available for a skilled Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing specializing in telehealth services to provide remote support for students requiring hearing assistance. This contract position is based in Providence, RI, working within an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver telehealth instructional and therapeutic services tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with educators, families, and related service providers.
- Utilize assistive technologies and communication strategies to facilitate effective learning experiences through virtual platforms.
- Monitor student progress and adjust intervention techniques accordingly.
- Provide guidance and resources to classroom teachers to support inclusive education for students with hearing loss.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with applicable educational and legal standards.
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
- Proven experience in telehealth delivery within educational or clinical environments.
- Strong knowledge of auditory and communication strategies for students with hearing impairments.
- Proficiency in virtual communication tools and adaptive technology.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
- Ability to work independently and manage caseloads remotely.
