Make a true difference in the lives of students as an Onsite Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. This contract role is available in the Toccoa, GA area, supporting K–12 students in their academic growth and classroom engagement.

In this position, you’ll use your expertise to provide direct instruction and support to students with hearing needs, collaborating with teachers and staff to foster an inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) license through GaPSC
  • Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching styles based on individual student needs
  • Comfort working with assistive hearing technology and IEPs

Responsibilities:

  • Provide instruction and support to K–12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
  • Develop and implement individualized lesson plans and accommodations
  • Work closely with classroom teachers and related service providers
  • Conduct assessments and monitor student progress
  • Ensure a supportive, engaging, and accessible classroom environment
  • Advocate for students’ needs and provide guidance to families as needed

Schedule options include either a full-time assignment (32.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday) or a part-time arrangement (10–15 hours per week over two days), offering flexibility to match your availability and preferences.
