An exciting opportunity is available for a full-time Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing dedicated to supporting young learners in self-contained classrooms. This role involves working with students from kindergarten through fifth grade in specialized settings designed to meet the unique needs of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction tailored to the needs of students in K-2 and grades 3-5 self-contained classrooms.
- Manage caseloads including a 6:1:2 classroom for K-2 and an 8:1:2 classroom for grades 3-5.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to support academic and social growth.
- Collaborate with support staff, audiologists, and families to create an inclusive and effective educational environment.
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies to optimize learning outcomes for students with hearing loss.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
- Experience working with young learners in self-contained educational settings.
- Strong understanding of Deaf culture and effective communication strategies.
- Ability to manage and support diverse student needs within the classroom.
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive learning space.
