Position Details:
- Role 1: Serve in a self-contained life skills classroom, directly supporting 8–10 students. Foster an environment that promotes communication and learning using innovative teaching strategies.
- Role 2: Handle a caseload (number of students TBD) and play a vital role in responding to campus behavior incidents. Collaborate closely with staff to ensure student needs are addressed efficiently and empathetically.
Required Experience and Skills:
- Valid teaching certification as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Teacher
- Prior work in K–12 school settings preferred
- Strong proficiency in sign language and visual communication methods
- Ability to individualize instruction based on student IEPs and learning profiles
- Collaborative mindset for partnering with general educators, specialists, and families
- Excellent problem-solving and de-escalation strategies
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement personalized lesson plans that accommodate students’ unique communication needs
