This contract-based position offers flexibility with both in-person and virtual (VOCO) teaching modalities, covering multiple locations within Jackson, Josephine, Douglas, and Klamath counties.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid teaching credentials with appropriate certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing instruction
- Demonstrated experience working with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in K-12 public school environments
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of best practices in Deaf education
- Strong collaboration and communication skills for teaming with multidisciplinary professionals and families
- Commitment to inclusive, student-centered teaching, adapting methods for diverse learner needs
- Flexibility to provide instruction in-person or via virtual platforms
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver individualized education plans tailored to each student’s needs and abilities
- Collaborate with general education staff, specialists, and interpreters to ensure access and accommodations
- Assess student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly
- Engage actively in IEP meetings, ongoing evaluations, and professional development
- Support students’ communication, academic, and social-emotional growth in both individual and group settings
