Seeking an experienced Teacher for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students to provide specialized instruction in a school setting in Myrtle Creek, OR. This contract position focuses on supporting the educational and developmental needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring they receive accessible and effective learning opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver tailored instruction to students with hearing impairments using appropriate teaching strategies and assistive technology.
- Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with special education teams, parents, and related service providers.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction to meet diverse learning needs.
- Advocate for students’ communication needs across the school environment.
- Provide support and training to classroom staff and families on communication and learning techniques for deaf and hard of hearing students.
- Maintain accurate records and reports related to student performance and services.
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification with endorsement or qualification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.
- Experience teaching students with hearing impairments in K-12 school settings.
- Strong knowledge of communication methods such as American Sign Language (ASL), Spoken English, and assistive listening devices.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
