Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Yuba City, California

Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or related field
- Previous experience with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students in a school setting is highly preferred
- Familiarity with cochlear implant technology, accommodations, and assistive devices
- Ability to develop and adapt instructional materials to suit varying levels of need
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams, including speech-language pathologists, general education teachers, and families
- Ability and willingness to travel between educational sites within the county
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to approximately 30 students with hearing impairments across multiple schools throughout the county
- Assess, plan, and implement individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Support students both in mainstream classrooms and through pull-out services as appropriate
- Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and families to promote student success
- Monitor student progress and provide regular updates to IEP teams
- Offer insight on assistive technology, accommodations, and language development strategies for students with hearing loss
