Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHH) in Alabaster, AL

What We’re Looking For:
- Valid certification as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist, or eligibility for appropriate state licensure
- Experience working with students in K-12 settings with hearing impairments
- Strong understanding of assistive technology and tools for communication access
- Ability to develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
- Exceptional communication and advocacy skills
- Compassion and patience when working with students and families
What You’ll Do:
- Provide direct and consultative services to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing
- Support classroom teachers and staff to implement accommodations and modifications
- Participate in IEP meetings, progress monitoring, and student evaluations
- Collaborate with parents, audiologists, and other specialists to ensure comprehensive service delivery
- Educate and empower school staff on best practices for inclusion and accessibility
