Key Qualifications:
- Valid credential or licensure as a Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
- Experience conducting assessments, evaluations, and developing tailored education plans for students with hearing loss
- Knowledge of assistive technology, auditory/oral communication, and accommodations
- Strong collaborative skills to work alongside educators, families, and support staff
- Ability to work independently and manage a dynamic caseload across a range of grade levels
Core Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to determine students’ needs
- Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in alignment with student goals
- Deliver direct instruction and consultative services for students in a K-12 setting
- Provide recommendations for classroom modifications and facilitate effective communication strategies
- Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers
- Offer training and resources for staff and families to support hearing-impaired students
- Participate in IEP meetings and serve as a knowledgeable advocate for deaf/hard of hearing learners
