Key Qualifications:

  • Valid credential or licensure as a Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
  • Experience conducting assessments, evaluations, and developing tailored education plans for students with hearing loss
  • Knowledge of assistive technology, auditory/oral communication, and accommodations
  • Strong collaborative skills to work alongside educators, families, and support staff
  • Ability to work independently and manage a dynamic caseload across a range of grade levels

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to determine students’ needs
  • Design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) in alignment with student goals
  • Deliver direct instruction and consultative services for students in a K-12 setting
  • Provide recommendations for classroom modifications and facilitate effective communication strategies
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers
  • Offer training and resources for staff and families to support hearing-impaired students
  • Participate in IEP meetings and serve as a knowledgeable advocate for deaf/hard of hearing learners
  • Be ready to offer coverage during future leave needs
