Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid certification as a Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH)
- Experience working with K-12 students in school-based settings
- Strong skills in assessments, evaluations, and developing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Knowledge of assistive technologies, communication strategies, and accommodations for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations for DHH students
- Design and implement individualized lessons and strategies to maximize student participation and achievement
- Consult with teachers, staff, and families to create accessible learning experiences
- Support the integration of assistive technology in the classroom
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings
- Adapt services as needed for potential coverage leave in the future
