Virtual Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) | California
ProCare Therapy and VocoVision are seeking a dedicated Virtual Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to provide high-quality online instruction to K-12 students throughout California. This fully remote opportunity allows experienced educators to make a meaningful impact while enjoying the flexibility of working from home.
Responsibilities
Virtual Instruction & Student Support
Deliver engaging virtual instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
Differentiate instruction to meet each student's academic, communication, and developmental needs.
Promote language development, literacy, auditory skills, and academic achievement.
Utilize communication methods such as American Sign Language (ASL), Total Communication, auditory-verbal approaches, and other student-specific strategies.
Assessment & IEP Services
Conduct educational assessments and evaluate student performance.
Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies using data-driven practices.
Collaboration
Partner with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families.
Attend virtual IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings.
Provide guidance to families supporting students in remote learning environments.
Documentation & Compliance
Maintain accurate service logs, progress reports, and IEP documentation.
Ensure compliance with IDEA, California special education regulations, and district policies.
Complete required documentation within established timelines.
Technology
Deliver instruction using virtual learning platforms and assistive technology.
Support students and families with technology implementation when needed.
Create engaging online learning experiences that encourage student participation.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field.
Active California Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing credential (or eligibility to obtain).
ASL proficiency preferred.
Minimum of two years of school-based experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
Experience providing virtual instruction and managing IEPs preferred.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
