- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and other relevant communication modalities
- Prior experience teaching, supporting, or case managing students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a school setting
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary educational teams, families, and service providers
- Strong understanding of IEP development, accommodations, and compliance with special education law
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative instruction to students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing within classroom and individual settings
- Participate in assessment, IEP development, and progress monitoring
- Equip general education teachers and support staff with strategies and resources for accessibility
- Foster a supportive environment by advocating for student needs and facilitating communication between students, staff, and family
- Adapt curriculum materials and lesson plans to promote engagement and comprehension
