Qualifications and Experience:
- Current certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH)
- Previous school-based experience supporting deaf and hard of hearing students preferred
- Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication approaches
- Deep understanding of IEP processes, accommodations, and adaptive technologies
- Strong collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams, students, and families
- Passion for advocacy and equity within educational settings
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative instruction to students with hearing loss, adapting curriculum as needed
- Develop and implement IEP goals targeting academic, communication, and social-emotional growth
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech-language pathologists, and support staff to foster accessibility
- Provide training and resources for staff to promote effective strategies and accommodations
- Engage with families to support student progress and facilitate active participation in the educational process
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
