Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) - Cicero, IL

Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching certification for Deaf/Hard of Hearing services
- Experience as a Deaf/Hard of Hearing Specialist or Teacher
- Strong knowledge of strategies and tools for students with hearing loss
- American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency preferred
- Ability to develop and implement effective Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with students, families, and school staff
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students aligned with their individual education plans
- Assess students’ skills and needs to tailor educational approaches
- Advocate for student accessibility and inclusion within the general education environment
- Support classroom teachers with instructional strategies and resources
- Monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
- Conduct outreach and communication with families to keep them informed and engaged
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required by school and district policies
