Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or closely related field
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
- Experience working with deaf or hard of hearing students in a school setting
- Strong American Sign Language (ASL) skills; additional communication modalities a plus
- Comprehensive understanding of differentiated instruction and individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized instructional plans tailored to the unique needs of each student
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure accessible learning opportunities
- Adapt curriculum materials and utilize assistive technology to facilitate effective communication and learning
- Monitor student progress, assess needs, and provide timely feedback and intervention strategies
- Advocate for students’ academic and social-emotional growth within the school community
- Facilitate communication and foster inclusivity among students, staff, and families
