Qualifications:

  • Valid teaching certification with an endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education
  • Experience or coursework focused on supporting students with hearing loss
  • Strong knowledge of auditory/oral, total communication, and sign language instructional strategies
  • Excellent collaborative and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialized instruction for deaf and hard of hearing students, approximately 20 hours per week
  • Collaborate with faculty, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student achievement
  • Develop and implement strategies tailored to each learner’s communication needs
  • Promote an inclusive classroom environment that encourages student confidence and participation
  • Monitor progress and document student growth
