Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching License for TN with appropriate Deaf/Hard of Hearing certification
  • Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to adapt instruction for diverse learners
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, equitable classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored for deaf or hard of hearing students
  • Deliver engaging academic instruction using effective communication strategies, including sign language as appropriate
  • Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student needs are met
  • Provide progress monitoring, ongoing assessment, and timely documentation
  • Support students’ social and emotional development within the school community
