Qualifications:
- Valid Special Education Teaching License for TN with appropriate Deaf/Hard of Hearing certification
- Experience working with K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to adapt instruction for diverse learners
- Commitment to fostering an inclusive, equitable classroom environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored for deaf or hard of hearing students
- Deliver engaging academic instruction using effective communication strategies, including sign language as appropriate
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student needs are met
- Provide progress monitoring, ongoing assessment, and timely documentation
- Support students’ social and emotional development within the school community
