Qualifications & Experience:
- Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligibility to obtain credentials
- Background in instructional strategies for D/HH students, including use of technology and assistive devices
- Strong understanding of IEP and 504 plan development and implementation
- Excellent communication skills with students, staff, and families
- Experience with sign language (ASL or SEE) preferred
- Familiarity with a variety of communication modalities and accommodations
- Flexibility and creativity to adapt lessons and materials
Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to Deaf/Hard of Hearing students across multiple grade levels
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers to provide consultation, co-teaching, and resources
- Assess students’ progress, monitor auditory access, and update individualized educational plans
- Foster self-advocacy and communication skills in students
- Serve as a resource to faculty and families on best practices and accommodations
- Support transition goals and prepare students for post-secondary experiences
