Key Details:
- Part-time contract position, 10 hours per week
- Serve a total of 4 students: 3 attend separate campuses in Fort Worth, 1 attends a Dallas campus
- Collaborate with school staff to adapt curriculum and ensure accessible learning environments
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education or equivalent credentials
- Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in K-12 settings
- Strong understanding of various communication modes, auditory/oral methods, and assistive technologies
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with faculty, families, and students
- Willingness to travel between multiple campuses within the Fort Worth and Dallas areas
What You’ll Do:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing in mainstream school settings
- Assess student needs and progress, tailoring lessons to promote language acquisition and academic growth
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to modify and adapt lessons and materials
- Advocate for students’ educational access, including the use of appropriate accommodations and technology
- Serve as a resource to families and staff, offering expertise in Deaf education and student-centered best practices
