Teacher of the Deaf in Bedford, TX

Key Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Demonstrated experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, spanning from early childhood to high school
- Preferred proficiency in sign language to ensure effective communication and instruction
- Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the unique learning needs of each student
- Strong collaboration skills for partnering with families, school staff, and related service providers
- Commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive atmosphere that encourages confidence and independence
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to students’ IEP goals
- Develop and implement creative lesson plans that foster language, academics, and social development
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and specialists to ensure accommodations and modifications reflect best practices
- Provide consultation and guidance to staff and families about hearing loss, technology use, and strategies for success
- Monitor progress and maintain accurate documentation in accordance with state and district requirements
- Participate in student and team meetings to support holistic development and educational outcomes
