This flexible position involves providing direct instruction and support services to students with hearing impairments, ensuring their educational needs are met in diverse school environments. With one student located in Dallas and three students at three different Fort Worth campuses, your efforts will foster communication access and empower each student to reach their academic potential.
Key Qualifications:
- Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, or equivalent state credentials
- Previous experience teaching or supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Strong understanding of various communication modalities (ASL, oral/aural approaches, etc.)
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills, critical for multi-campus support
- Ability to collaborate with general education staff, families, and related service providers
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized instruction to a very small group of students across specified campuses
- Consult with school staff regarding best practices and classroom accommodations
- Create and monitor progress toward educational goals outlined in each student's IEP
- Advocate for accessibility and inclusive learning opportunities
