Key Qualifications:
- Valid DHHT (Deaf/Hard of Hearing Teacher) certification
- Experience working with high school-aged students preferred
- Deep knowledge of best practices for supporting students with hearing impairments in academic settings
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for partnering with general education faculty, students, and families
- Ability to develop and adapt instructional materials to meet individualized needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support to high school students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, counselors, and related service providers to create an inclusive learning environment
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) in accordance with state and federal requirements
- Provide consultation and resources to faculty regarding strategies, accommodations, and technology supports
- Partner with families and advocate for student needs, fostering academic and social success
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation on student progress
- Approximately 15 hours per week, following the school calendar for the full academic year
