Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, adapting general education curriculum to meet their individual needs
- Use sign language, spoken language, or a combination, depending on each student’s communication needs
- Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, speech therapists, and other school professionals to implement best practices and support academic and social growth
- Develop and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for assigned students, including goal-setting and progress tracking
- Advocate for accommodations and supports to ensure accessibility across all school settings
- Provide consultation and training for school staff and families regarding hearing loss, communication modalities, and inclusive strategies
