Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid state certification in Deaf / Hard of Hearing Education (or eligibility)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related area
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in a school setting
- Strong knowledge of auditory assistive technology and strategies
- Proficiency with sign language (ASL) is a plus
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction to students with hearing impairments following IEP guidelines
- Adapt curriculum and develop resources that support varied learning needs
- Assist in assessments, progress monitoring, and the development of IEPs
- Provide consultation to general education teachers and support staff
- Communicate with families and participate in educational planning meetings
- Encourage student self-advocacy and foster an inclusive environment
