Key Qualifications:
- Valid teaching certification/license appropriate for Deaf / Hard of Hearing education
- Degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field
- Knowledge of sign language (ASL) and other communication modalities
- Experience working with students with hearing differences, preferably in a school environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with students, families, and staff
- Ability to develop and adapt individualized education plans (IEPs) to meet students’ diverse needs
Role Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instructional support tailored to students who are Deaf / Hard of Hearing
- Adapt curriculum and instructional materials for accessibility
- Assess student progress and maintain up-to-date documentation
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and support staff
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to team-based planning
- Serve as an educational resource for staff and families regarding best practices and accommodations
