Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid IL Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate endorsement for Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Prior experience or training working with Deaf or Hard of Hearing students at any grade level is highly desirable
- Strong organizational skills to manage a caseload across multiple sites
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and families
- Flexibility to travel between buildings (paid mileage provided)
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, adapting lessons to individual needs and IEP goals
- Collaborate with educational teams, interpreters, and related service providers across seven school buildings
- Support mainstream teachers through consultation and strategy development
- Maintain clear documentation and progress notes on student advancement
- Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development as required
- Professional hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 3:30 pm, including a 30-minute duty-free lunch
