Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid IL Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate endorsement for Deaf/Hard of Hearing
  • Prior experience or training working with Deaf or Hard of Hearing students at any grade level is highly desirable
  • Strong organizational skills to manage a caseload across multiple sites
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and families
  • Flexibility to travel between buildings (paid mileage provided)

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing, adapting lessons to individual needs and IEP goals
  • Collaborate with educational teams, interpreters, and related service providers across seven school buildings
  • Support mainstream teachers through consultation and strategy development
  • Maintain clear documentation and progress notes on student advancement
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and professional development as required
  • Professional hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 3:30 pm, including a 30-minute duty-free lunch
