Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate endorsements for Deaf/Hard of Hearing instruction
  • Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in K-12 settings preferred
  • Strong collaboration skills to coordinate services across multiple buildings
  • Ability to create accessible curriculum materials and foster an inclusive learning environment
  • Familiarity with state and district requirements

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction and support to a caseload of 14 students across 7 school buildings
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student, tracking progress and adapting strategies as needed
  • Consult with general education teachers, specialists, and families to ensure students have equitable access to all learning opportunities
  • Provide resources and training to school staff on effective communication strategies and assistive technology
  • Document student progress regularly and participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings as required
  • Work onsite, with paid mileage for travel between assigned school locations

Compensation for this position ranges from $25.00 to $50.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
