This contract position is located near Naperville, IL, and offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative educational environment with a dynamic and diverse team. As an integral educational partner, you will help shape inclusive learning experiences and facilitate meaningful communication for students across various grade levels.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate endorsements for Deaf/Hard of Hearing instruction
- Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in K-12 settings preferred
- Strong collaboration skills to coordinate services across multiple buildings
- Ability to create accessible curriculum materials and foster an inclusive learning environment
- Familiarity with state and district requirements
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct instruction and support to a caseload of 14 students across 7 school buildings
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for each student, tracking progress and adapting strategies as needed
- Consult with general education teachers, specialists, and families to ensure students have equitable access to all learning opportunities
- Provide resources and training to school staff on effective communication strategies and assistive technology
- Document student progress regularly and participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings as required
- Work onsite, with paid mileage for travel between assigned school locations
