Make an impact supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in an engaged school community! This contract opportunity runs from August through May, supporting learners across two elementary campuses and a middle school in the Aurora, IL area. As an onsite educator, you’ll deliver individualized instruction and services, helping students access their curriculum and thrive both academically and socially.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) endorsement
- Experience working with K–8 students in educational settings
- Ability to collaborate with educational teams, families, and support personnel
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Flexibility for an itinerant schedule across multiple schools
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students, tailored to IEP goals
- Adapt general education curriculum to meet students’ unique needs and communication styles
- Support classroom teachers with strategies and accommodations to promote inclusion
- Collaborate with allied professionals (speech, audiologists) and participate in IEP meetings
- Utilize assessment data and progress monitoring tools to document student growth and success
- Maintain a positive, culturally responsive learning environment
