Key Qualifications:
- Valid New York State certification as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in a school setting
- Comfortable providing instruction and support to K-12 students with diverse communication needs
- Ability to adapt and individualize educational materials for optimal student success
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and school staff
- Tech-savvy and open to virtual learning platforms and hybrid teaching models
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative educational services to K-12 students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Develop, implement, and modify Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with school teams
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and assistive technologies to meet students’ needs
- Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings and communicate regularly with families and school personnel
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation of services
This role offers the flexibility of working 2-3 days each week, with options for both in-person and remote support. You’ll be part of a dedicated educational team that values your expertise in fostering student achievement.
