This opportunity welcomes experienced and emerging Teachers for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to provide specialized educational services in a K-12 setting within the Nashville suburban area. The position requires delivering tailored instruction and support across multiple schools in the district to meet the unique needs of students with hearing impairments.

Location: Cumberland Furnace, TN (Nashville Area Suburb)
Type: Full-Time Contract (Monday-Friday, 37.5 hours/week)
Duration: ASAP start through May 20, 2026

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction and educational support to students with hearing loss from kindergarten through 12th grade.
  • Collaborate with educational teams to develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
  • Implement strategies and accommodations to enhance communication access and learning outcomes.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional approaches accordingly.
  • Support family engagement and provide resources to enhance student success.
  • Maintain compliance with district policies and state regulations.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Tennessee Department of Education certification for Teachers of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing.
  • Willingness to undergo fingerprint-based background checks and complete required district paperwork.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents with hearing loss preferred.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for effective teamwork with educators, families, and specialists.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
