Make an impact in the lives of students as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a full-time, onsite, contract position. This role involves working as an itinerant professional, supporting middle school and elementary students across several schools. You'll be an essential part of a multidisciplinary team, fostering accessible learning environments for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.

Qualifications & Required Experience:

  • Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) endorsement
  • Experience working with school-aged children in educational settings
  • Familiarity with current teaching methodologies and assistive technology for DHH students
  • Strong communication skills and collaborative style
  • Passion for advocating for students’ needs and providing individualized support

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct and consultative services to DHH students at various school sites in accordance with IEP goals
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and related service personnel
  • Adapt curriculum and materials for accessibility
  • Monitor and document student progress
  • Partner with families to ensure a holistic approach to student success
  • Participate in IEP meetings, team planning, and professional development
