Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) - Englewood, Florida
An exciting contract opportunity is available for a Full-Time Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing for the 2026/2027 school year. Serving students in a supportive environment (with options for on-site, remote, or hybrid work), you’ll play a pivotal role in guiding students' academic and social growth. This position calls for passion, flexibility, and a strong foundation in DHH and Elementary/ESE instruction.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Valid Florida teacher certification, or eligible for certification
- ESOL endorsement required; additional endorsements/certifications such as Communications Disorder, Autism, Gifted, or Reading (hours) preferred
- Skilled in differentiating instruction in multi-grade classrooms
- Experience with teletherapy platforms and/or virtual instruction a plus
- Collaborative mindset for working with paraprofessionals and support staff
Primary Duties:
- Deliver engaging, differentiated instruction to DHH students in accordance with individual learning plans
- Prepare, maintain, and submit necessary records and reports as mandated
- Foster a classroom environment that is safe, orderly, and conducive to learning for diverse student populations
- Implement lessons and adapt techniques to accommodate a range of student needs and abilities
- Uphold school and district rules, regulations, and board policies
- Maintain daily lesson plans and demonstrate preparation as needed
- Support student goals, encourage participation, and build positive relationships
