DHH Teacher | Gig Harbor, Washington

Key Qualifications:
- Completion of Interpreter Training Program required
- RID certification and/or EIPA assessment score of 4.0 or higher (in accordance with Washington State law as of 2023)
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License or ability to demonstrate mobility as necessary
- Cleared fingerprints; successful WSP and FBI background clearance, including sexual misconduct clearance
- Previous experience in a school-based role preferred
What You’ll Do:
- Provide accurate sign to voice and voice to sign interpretation for D/deaf and hard of hearing students in classrooms and various educational settings
- Facilitate effective communication between students, teachers, staff, and the wider community according to IDEA, ADA, and other legal requirements
- Support instructional activities as guided by certified teachers
- Assist with extracurricular activities, with the possibility of earning additional hours
Schedule:
- On-site student support Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:00am–3:30pm, and Wednesday from 10:00am–3:30pm
